Unruly Prion parsnips and veggie chilli

A brief one this week, feels like a time of year when we're all getting inundated with information and there's not enough time in the day to take it all in.
In the field:
Our supply of wood chip seems to have dried up....unfortunately we didn't get quite as much as we'd hoped from the local contractors who were in the area. We can use trailer fulls of this stuff at a time (so if anyone ever has any woodchip going....you know where to come!)
Rosie has been spreading compost on to the beds - though this is going to be quite weedy so we will have to be on top of it in the spring - we'll let the weeds germinate and then pull the tarps over for a few weeks to hopefully kill them off.... fingers crossed!
Harvesting - this week 7.5kg of leeks, 12kg kale and 10kg of parsnips. Ours are definitely the more wild looking ones. Hopefully those that get them don't mind their slightly unruly appearance!!
In the boxes:
Small - potatoes, carrots onions, sweet potatoes, beetroot, spring greens, parsnips, bananas
Regular - potatoes, carrots, onions, leeks, red cabbage, kale, Harlequin squash, palermo peppers, swede, clementines.
Don't forget, you can add things to your box from our online shop and we can deliver with your next box (ignore the message saying you have to pick up).
In the shop:
Potatoes & onions from Bryn Cochyn
From Prion: Leeks, kale, salad, parsnips, chard, chillies
Also: Spring Greens, cauliflowers, red cabbages, sprout stalks, carrots,
celeriac, swede, sweet potato, beetroot, squash (Harlequin, Mashed potato, Butternut), Roscoff onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric, chestnut mushrooms Fruit: Bananas, clementines, apples

Plus Pentrefelin milk, Nant y felin sourdough, free-range eggs and other organic store cupboard items.
In the kitchen:
Going to try to pickle some chillies as we've got a bit of a glut.
It's soup and stew and curry weather - not sure we need to say much more than that! I've definitely shared this veggie chillie recipe before but it's a good 'un and we do it most weeks at the moment.
Finally, here's a little note on plastic and salad during winter....a tricky conundrum fior the boxes but in the shop please feel free to bring your own containers and bags, every bit helps.
have a great week
