Stormy weather

Hope everyone stays safe over the next few days, we really don't like strong winds! Living in Prion perhaps not the wisest choice....!
Thank you so much for all the support and words of encouragement we've been getting about our move and what we're up to.
The last day we are in the shop on Mount Pleasant is this Friday 18th - we are closed next Friday 25th.We re-open onFriday 4th March in our new unit on the Colomendy here.
Not much happening in the field in this weather! A bit of harvesting, fortunately inside. Locked and loaded ready to press go for sowing to start in earnest in March. Each year we feel increasingly confident about what we need to do but there's still nervous anticipation wondering what's going to work well (and what's not) this year!
Eat Your Greens veg boxes:
Small boxes have squash, beetroot, sprout stalk, swede, leeks, Braeburn apples. Regular have red cabbage, kale / cavalo nero, tundra cabbage, palermo peppers, sweet potatoes, leeks, garlic, blood oranges.
The Vale Grocer shop: Plenty of: White / blue potatoes, purple / orange carrots, red / brown onions, Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, sweet potato, beetroot, parsnips, squash, green cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, fresh garlic / turmeric / ginger Limited: Red cabbage, Roscoff onions, kale, sprout stalk, kohlrabi, snowpea shoots, chestnut mushrooms Fruit: Bananas, Navelina oranges, Tango clementines, grapefuit (2), lemons, Braeburn apples + some Seville oranges + lots of local free-range eggs (avian flu restrictions means the hens aren't free range at the moment but are in normal times) + local Cae Main & Bryn Cochyn apple juice
Recipe inspiration:
Came across this Anna Jones squash lasagne recipe, and although we haven't tried it yet, I like the simplicity of it (and the addition of capers and olives - 2 favourites in our house), as well as her suggestions for swaps. I always balk at doing lasagne becasue of the faff but this definitely looks like an easier version. It's not a short video, but easy to watch.
If you're looking for something different to do with your cabbage or green leaves, try a thoran - here's a Riverford one but we've also done similar using a Meera Sodha recipe. Have a lovely week, and say hi to Rosie if you see her out delivering!
have a lovely week
